Although you can leave at the station level, you cannot enter the hotel from the area of Waverley Station and it is a steep climb up to the hotel.

Cafe Marlayne and Creelers are both excellent.

Good location.
However the single room I got was very small, almost like an "under the stairs space".
I would expect more for the price. No sky or setanta sports channel. Again I would expect to have these. You are right beside Princes Street, Royal Mile and Grassmarket. No shortage of decent restaurants and pubs.

I think the food on the (hot) buffet menu was not very warm infact on several occasions the beans sausages and bacon were tepid if not cold the scrambled egg were cold every day

The best way to find your way around is by using one of the open top buses. Very interesting and funny

They argued the booking had not been made for 8 twin rooms, however the I had and your invoice and vouchers cleared showed payment for 8 twin rooms. They only gave us 7 rooms two of which were triple rooms which would have been a distaster if it had of been all couples travelling. The attitude of the staff was very disatifactory especially those serving on the front desk. The consiege went to give a piece of luggage belonging to one of our party to another guest checking out of the hotel, luckily we were stood at the checking in desk for over 40 mins so noticed and stopped the women from taking it!! Also we were promised a checking in time of 12pm when I made the booking this did not prove to be the case so caused some disruption to our plans for the weekend.

A great place to visit for a weekend away. Lots to do and see for everyone. A lot of hills though!! The Airlink bus running every ten minutes from the airport was excellent and definetly good value for money.
