Learmonth Swallow
***At the time of visiting this hotel it had just been taken over by Swallow Hotels who plan an extensive refurbishment starting Autumn 2006.***
The exterior of the hotel is a lovely Georgian Townhouse with small patio outside to allow for lounging in the sun and providing an external smoking area for bar patrons.
The large lobby has a few seats and large staircase leading to the rooms. BT wi-fi is available throughout the lobby area.
The hotel is a fairly basic hotel providing a budget option close to the city centre.
There are 62 bedrooms in the hotel, mainly twin rooms although some rooms have zip-link beds providing the option of a double. The hotel has 11 dedicated single rooms which although tend to be a bit smaller, offer the single traveller the chance to book a room without paying often-hefty single supplements.
All rooms are functional, decorated in pastel colours and are furnished with light coloured fittings to the standard you would expect of a hotel of this nature with television, tea & coffee facilities and trouser press.
The lively bar is accessed from both the lobby and via an exterior front facing door. Popular with local residents of the area it serves bar meals all day.

Situated in the basement, the restaurant serves as breakfast room offering an extensive hot and cold buffet.
The hotel does not have a private car parking, although guests may park on the adjacent quiet street.

Comment
We had a lovely time during our 3 day stay at the learmonth. Our room was lovely and very spacious although it was let down by the outdated and slightly dirty bathroom. The tiles needed a good scrub and and it desperatly required a new shower curtain.
Top Tip
Zizzi's italian restaurant was great food and even better service for a reasonable price (just over Dean's Bridge).
