We are mobile and fit but had we not have been then this hotel would have presented difficulties. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there was not a working lift
Top Tip
Mary Kings close below the royal mile is an under publisised attraction. We really enjoyed it.

Good hotel, great location but be aware if travelling by car there are no parking facilities at this hotel and the cheapest car park is an NCP one located nearby but costing £19 per 24 hr period, so this greatly increases the cost if staying for a few days.

staff at reception very pleasant and helpful. breakfast very good
but dinners could be improved two members of our party who had not enjoyed their dinner were looking forward to their dessert only to find that it was no longer available and as we were first to be served in the restaurant and it was only 6pm we were not impressed and when they requested ice-cream were told by the waiting staff that they would have to ask the kitchen.the person in charge of the staff that night was very unpleasant and should consider a change of career since he was clearly devoid of all people skills.

Attractive, comfortable & well-located hotel with character. Friendly staff if not always the most efficient. Nice breakfast room with good continental b'fast - didn't try the full Scottish.

Edinburgh is packed with things to see & do - far too many for one long weekend. Get yourself a good guidebook & check it out before you go. The hop-on, hop-off tourist buses are great - lots of interesting facts from the entertaining tour guides, combined with a chance to see the sights whilst resting your feet. All very enjoyable!

A very friendly hotel which makes you feel "at home". Location is superb for sightseeing around the City. It is also excellent value for money.

This hotel is extremely central although parking may be a problem. Also it is on a steep hill although once inside has excellent facilities for the disabled.
