Comment
The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.
The only problem was that the shower was too powerful but with bath facilities too this wasn't too much of a problem
Top Tip
Botanical gardens were lovely and the portrait gallery was my favourite of the national gelleries.
As for food...Creelers was delicious and The Mussel Inn is good and reasonably priced if you like shellfish.

Comment
Located in a dodgy part of Edinburgh, opposite sex shops and lap-dancing hotels, the staff of this hotel do not help you enjoy your stay, being arrogant and unhelpful. The decor is vile and more along the lines of a prison or hospital than a hotel. Maintenance is also shoddy.
Top Tip
If you like lap-dancing venues, sex shops and massage parlours, this hotel is ideally situated. It is also difficult to find.

Good location. Unusual interior - very spare and minimalist, the lobby and corridor to our room on the 2nd floor looked almost industrial, and a bit gloomy, but very clean, comfortable and really friendly, helpful staff. Great shower - very powerful. Lovely crisp cotton bedlinen.

The Dome in George Street is a beautiful place for a glass of wine or a hot chocolate. We had a lovely lunch at the Witchery near the Castle which does a reasonably priced lunch/pre theatre menu
