The hotel is ideally located 5 to 10 minutes walk from Princes Street and the main transport terminals in Edinburgh (Waverley and bus station). It overlooks Queen Street Gardens in the New Town area. The castle and old town are within easy walking reach as are all or Edinburgh's central shops and restaurants.

If you are looking for something with history and tradition then the The Royal Scots Club may be the answer. Founded in 1919 as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the Great War and is proud of its heritage and traditions. With only 21 bedrooms the service is more personal and the bedrooms are individually designed with warmth, comfort and taste in mind. They offer guests the usual amenities you would expect of a hotel of this category. The restaurant serves traditional Scottish fayre, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner although it should be noted that there is a strict dress code in operation. Light snacks are available in the less formal bar/lounge. Please note that due to long tradition the Club does have a Dress Code for the Dining Room. Gentlemen are expected to wear a jacket and tie for lunch between a Monday and Friday, an open necked shirt, worn without a jacket is acceptable at weekends. A jacket and tie is required for dinner Monday to Thursday, on other evenings smart but casual attire is acceptable. Ladies are expected to conform to an equivalent standard of dress at all times.
