Excellent hotel, as you would expect from the malmaison group.
Everything clean and staff very friendly and attentive (even though we are English!!!!!!!!!)
Top Tip
Buses into Edinburgh are cheap and plentiful and the hotel is just a short walk from the ocean terminal, home of the Royal Yacht Britannia, which is well worth a visit.

excellent overall, any problems immediately dealt with by some of the friendliest staff encountered anywhere in world.Use of gym free for guests, great when weather gets up to old tricks!. although located just under 2miles from city centre, taxi is only £6 and convenient bus number 22 every 10 mins from Princes Street and St James Centre.Get off at Shore and walk back to Waters edge past Restaurant ship and hotel a little further on.

While the hotel room was nicely decorated, it was small and airless with no air conditioning. We also requested early entry to the room and were promised a phone call - but none was received.
Breakfast was good.
But overall hotel is over-priced.
Top Tip
Recommend "The Kitchin" but booking in advance required for evenings.
Reason able walk to Ocean Terminal

Excellent location by water in Leith (just wish the authorites would clean up the river a bit). Room was clean and well decorated, just wished it had been one with a better view (wall). One negative was that TV was past its sell by date and TV reception quality was poor. Restaurant was excellent with efficient and friendly staff.
Top Tip
There is a large vessel (floating Italian restaurant) moored in the dock just down from the hotel. Good food and not expensive.

A lovely hotel in a great location at the end of the shore where all the bars and restaurants are situated, and a ten minute walk to the Royal Yacht and Ocean Terminal shopping centre.
Top Tip
Lots of nice places to eat on the doorstep, but for something special try The Plumed Horse on Henderson Street - it is wonderful.
