Traveller from North Shields stayed in January,2009

Very clean attractive hotel convenient for the station, shopping, restaurants art galleries etc. Central heating only comes on when you are in the room and there is none in the bathroom, a disadvantage in winter! No hairdrier. I would expect breakfast to be hot and fresh even for a latish breakfast but it was not, but we were given fresh hot coffee when we asked.

Top Tip:
I would recomment The Mussell Inn in Rose Street for a reasonably priced fish meal. Big pots of mussels. Independent art galleries on Dundas Street have good exhibitions, particularly the Scottish Gallery.
